Tsunami Benefit at Boardriders Re-cap

April 15th 2011 was a pretty successful night. We had invited the groups Dave and Heath and Celebrity Pink to help us out and play for a little benefit concert for the victims in Japan.
First off I want to thank Dave and Heath for their “full” sound. When I mean full, I mean they’ve got the horns and the vocals to cover many songs from our favorite reggae artists. I also heard a original! Right on guys!
Much mahalo to Celebrity Pink (Hot SaucE) also to step up out of their practice box and start jamming in front of an audience. They all have played in front of crowds but this was their first together as Celebrity Pink. Sounded good guys an keep it up. Originals sounded cherry braddahs!
Thanks for braddah Aaron for hyping up the crowd for HiRiZ! We felt good coming into our set. We started a little later than what was planned but it worked out for the better. We pulled the raffle at 12am and congrats do Misty Demello. She won the acoustic guitar donated by Easy Music Center. People was skankin’ and Boardriders was happenin’!
Mahalo to all who came out and to Shan, Steve, and Kainoa for setting up, breaking down, and allowing the other bands to use their equipment. Next month a repeat??? Maybe…..
