The KTUH Monday Night Live Experience

This is how the night went. We all showed up on time which was unbelievable because traffic was pretty bad. It did not help that they require you to be there at 6pm. We still had to bring all our equipment just like we were going to play a gig….which we were, but under the impression that it was more like a recording session.
I heard they were under “renovation” for a couple of months. We haven’t played there before, but when we showed up, we were expecting cleanliness. Totally misled, haha! Not to lead you wrong, KTUH is still bad ass because they have a wide variety of material from C.D’s to Vinyl and they still have their reel to reel recorder. Talk about old school!
We know where the renovation is though. They got a Presonus Studio live 24. This mixing board is top of the line. This is a huge upgrade for them. The preamp and built-in tools that this board provides takes there Monday night live show to the next level.
We played all of our originals and then some. Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley , and Herbie Hancock were in the mix. The radio mix was not equalize to our liking. The cool thing about that mixer board is that we can lower my voice track or raise my guitar track to achieve an equal blend between all our vocals and instruments after the recording of the show. Stay tuned to here some of the re-equalized recordings on our media page.
This was a good learning experience for all of us for future radio interviews. Hopefully we can come back KTUH! Much Mahalo once again to all that listened!
